Home Restoration or makeover? What is the difference?
This is an interesting question: Home Restoration or Makeover?. And we want to tackle it as many people confuse one with the other. So it is important to start by talking about the time factor: while doing a makeover could last a couple of weeks, a restoration itself may take a few months.
Why is this possible? First and foremost a home restoration process involves changes not only to what is visible but also to what is not, meaning walls might be taken down, spaces changed, installations such as electrical, plumbing, etc. might suffer big changes and adaptations. A makeover on the other hand might just involve a change in paint colors, adding or changing furniture, things that you can tackle in a short period of time.
Also, home restoration could mean changing a wood wall to a concrete wall, changing a tile floor for a ceramic one. This means a lot more time as you need to remove the original floor to then add the new one. And here comes the other important point: Money.
The expenses involved in a makeover are lower than if you get in a full home restoration since you, for a makeover, will only need to invest a few dollars in maybe new furniture (which could be a piece or two) and some paint to match, while in performing a full home restoration you will have to invest in a lot of materials like cement, adhesives (if you are adding flooring or tiles to the walls), paint, and so on.
And what we are mentioning here is just a few small things that make the difference between a full home restoration and a simple makeover. So now you know, now you can choose exactly what you are aiming for.
Until next time.
